The veteran singing legend, Asha Bhosle, passed away on April 12 at the age of 92. The singer was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital a day earlier. She died due to multiple organ failure, according to the doctor treating her at the hospital.The singing legend was given the guard of honor at her residence in the Lower Parel area of Mumbai. Her mortal remains traveled from her Lower Parel residence to the Shivaji Park crematorium in Dadar. The mortal remains of the singing legend were draped in the tricolor as she was cremated with full state honors.Bollywood celebrities like Aamir Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Tabu, Vivek Oberoi, music composer Anu Malik, singers Anup Jalota, Sudesh Bhosale, and Shaan, and filmmaker Ramesh Sippy and actress Padmini Kolhapure were seen at Shivaji Park during the last rites.Political leaders who paid final respects to her included the chief minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis; deputy chief minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde; former CM Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray; and the MNS supremo, Raj Thackeray.The singer was given the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award back in 2000, followed by a Padma Vibhushan in 2008.
