While promoting ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ and ‘Mother Mary’ on ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’, Hathaway ended up sharing an iconic moment that she shared with Taylor Swift. While talking about the singer and their connection, Hathaway admitted that the two of them have know each other for a while. Recalling her magical moment at the Germany leg of the 2024 ‘Eras Tour’, she shared, “She came out on stage and the whole place exploded. She makes the audience feel so loved, and she made me feel so loved. I’m like, ‘Oh my God, Annie, you’re so cute! You think Taylor Swift is waving to you right now.’ Somebody tapped me on the shoulder and said, ‘Taylor wants you to have this.’”She further revealed what the note read, “Taylor said, ‘I’m so happy you’re here, I’m going to be enthusiastically waving at you,’ and I was like, oh my God, she’s so magical, she did! She did the thing! I was right, I am special!”

Furthermore, the actress ended up revealing that a lot of ‘Mother Mary’ and its scenes have been inspired by Taylor Swift and her magical performances. She also mentioned that the director of the film, David Lowery, was also a big Swiftie, and that a lot of the concert scenes in the film were a direct inspiration of the ‘Reputations’ tour. Hathaway further shared that Swift’s 2020 documentary titled ‘Miss Americana’, was also a big inspiration. The actress added how she loved how the singer was and how “vulnerable she let herself be.”
