CBSE Class 10th and 12th result 2026

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declared the Class 10 board examination results for 2026, reporting an overall pass percentage of 93.70 per cent, marking a marginal increase from last year’s 93.66 per cent. Conducted across thousands of centres in India and 27 countries, the examination saw the participation of over 24.7 lakh students, with more than 1.63 crore answer sheets evaluated in a streamlined and digitised process. The board released the results earlier than usual, signalling improved efficiency in evaluation and coordination.

Delhi outperforms national average with over 97% pass rate

Delhi, once again, has proved to be one of the best performing regions for CBSE Class 10 results 2026 with a collective pass percentage of 97.39 percent. The Delhi East Region witnessed a registration number of 2,11,121, out of which 2,10,238 took the test, while a pass percentage of 97.33 per cent was witnessed with 2,04,628 students clearing the test. In contrast, the Delhi West region has performed even better, with a registration number of 1,35,768, 1,34,989 appearances, and a pass percentage of 97.45 per cent with 1,31,548 students clearing the test.

Low compartment rate reflects steady performance

Delhi has a few students put into the category of being compartmented, and this shows that the results obtained are good overall. From the statistics above, we see that the number of students who failed the exam in Delhi East was 5,481 out of 210,023, which is 2.61% and 3,335 out of 134,957, which is 2.47%.

Over 3.45 lakh students appeared across Delhi region

In all the areas of Delhi, CBSE recorded 3,46,889 candidates who enrolled themselves, while 3,45,227 students appeared for the test. Of the total number of candidates, 3,36,176 passed the test, thereby emphasizing the fact that Delhi has continued to perform well compared to other states within the CBSE network. This trend has been observed since the past few years, wherein Delhi maintains a percentage of passes higher than the national average owing to better academic facilities.

Stable national trend with marginal improvement

Nationally speaking, the 93.70 per cent pass ratio represents a trend in academia that is stable, having witnessed marginal improvement from the previous year. According to CBSE officials, the reasons for this consist of the use of competence-based testing and gradual movement towards NEP that stresses conceptual learning over rote.As before, the girl students outperformed the male gender nationally while the southern areas continued to be the best performers in CBSE Class 10 results 2026. Nevertheless, Delhi is positioned among the best urban centres due to its good performance.

A changing system but with the same trend

Notably, 2026 happens to be a period during which the CBSE is implementing various changes, such as the dual board exam, whereby students get an additional chance within the same academic year. Yet, the overall performance trend is still stable.Delhi’s impressive performance alongside national stability can be seen as an indication that CBSE Class 10 results, 2026, reflect stability amid change in India’s examination system.
