IIT Madras B.S. admissions 2026: Applications are open for undergraduate programmes at Indian Institute of Technology Madras for the academic year 2026–2027. The institute is conducting B.S. courses in the subjects of Medical Sciences & Engineering and Chemistry, and the admission procedure is done based on IISER Aptitude Test (IAT-2026).The application procedure started on April 6, 2026, at 10:00 AM and will end on June 5, 2026, at 5:00 PM. It is mandatory for candidates to make payments via Net banking/credit card/debit card/UPI for successful registration.Programmes and admission processThe B.S. programme in Medical Sciences and Engineering focuses on interdisciplinary learning across healthcare, engineering and research. The Chemistry programme includes an option to upgrade to an M.S. in Chemistry. Both courses are designed to combine scientific fundamentals with research-based training.Admissions to both programmes will be conducted through IAT-2026. Applicants are required to register for the test before filling out the programme application. Additional admission routes through SEA and FACE will open later.Eligibility criteria and academic requirementsApplicants must meet three conditions to be eligible. They must qualify in IAT-2026, be Indian nationals or OCI/PIO card holders with cards issued before March 4, 2021, and meet Class XII academic requirements.Eligible applicants should be holders of Class XII or equivalent certificate exams held in the years 2024, 2025, and 2026 from any recognized education board of COBSE. In case of studying Medical Science and Engineering, Mathematics and any other two subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, and Physics will be mandatory subjects. Applicants should apply by registering through their email address and mobile numbers after filling up the application form along with the payment of the application fee.Application fees are Rs. 500/- for SC/ST/PWD/Female category applicants and Rs. 1000/- for other applicants. One application will be allowed per candidate.Photograph, signature and document uploads must follow prescribed size and format guidelines.
