Tom Holland and Zendaya‘s ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ debuted at CinemaCon 2026, with a special clip reportedly playing out on the big screen. The video in question, not only reveals Peter Parker’s new identity, but also reveals his new equation with Zendaya’s Michelle Jones-Watson and Jacob Batalon’s Ned.

Tom Holland reveals ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ plot

According to Variety, Holland, who did not attend the event in person, appeared via hologram to introduce the footage. “Peter had to make a sacrifice to make all his friends forget who he is,” he said. “Here, you’ll see some of the consequences of that choice.” He added that ‘Brand New Day’ is the “most emotional ‘Spider-Man’ we’ve ever made. And the most grown-up.”As per the report, the new footage screened at the event, shows Peter navigating life in a world where no one remembers him. His love interest, MJ, appears to have moved on in her romantic life and seemingly unaware of her past with Peter Parker.

Why Ned is trying to find Spider-Man

Besides MJ, his best friend Ned, also forgets him entirely, prompting him to set out on a hunt to uncover Spider-Man’s identity. “He actually saved me and my friend’s lives in high school,” Ned tells Peter without knowing who he really is. “Ever since, I’ve been trying to figure out who he is. Not to unmask him to the world, just to thank him.”Ned goes on to speculate, “We know he’s definitely from Queens…”

New ‘Spider-Man’ posters

The makers also dropped new posters. While one is a call back to former Spider-Man posters featuring a reflection of MJ, the other sees Spidey going up against a powerful new threat – The Hand.‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ release dateSet four years after the previous instalment, the film follows Peter as he lives in isolation, dedicating himself entirely to crime-fighting in New York. According to the official synopsis, the pressures of his double life begin to take a toll, leading to unexpected physical changes. The film also stars Mark Ruffalo, Sadie Sink, alongside returning cast members. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ is set to release on July 31, 2026.
