The clips that surfaced online on April 10 created a massive uproar in the industry and have received significant criticism from the fans and audience.Speaking about the issue, the director expressed his support for filmmaker H. Vinoth, who is helming the film. As per Nakkheeran, Vignesh Shivan said, “Today, the situation of directors is very worrying. Such a big film has been leaked online. The one who will be hurt the most will be the director. I want to convey to my friend Vinoth how miserable I’m feeling. This is a feeling that is as painful as death. He said, “As a director, I know how much dream and effort go into every shot filmed each day. When something like this gets released online in a way the director never intended, it causes immense pain.” The leak of ‘Jana Nayagan’ quickly became a major talking point across the industry. Several film personalities and associations condemned the act, while the Tamil Nadu Cyber Crime wing reportedly arrested six people in connection with the incident.

He said, “The film received many positive reviews, but there were also some negative comments saying that the film feels slow. Whenever we try to say something new, it takes time for the audience to fully understand it. I still accept those criticisms. Many people think making a love story is easy, but every film is equally difficult to make.”
Director praises Pradeep Ranganathan’s commitment during a challenging underwater scene
Vignesh Shivan also shared a memorable moment from the film’s shoot that showed the dedication of Pradeep Ranganathan. According to the director, one particular sequence required the actor to stay underwater for nearly one and a half minutes while performing. He revealed that the scene was filmed through the night and was physically demanding. Vignesh Shivan said, “In one scene, Pradeep had to hold his breath underwater for nearly one and a half minutes while acting. He kept doing it the entire night for the shoot. I even tried to attempt it myself, but I immediately came out because I got scared for my life. But Pradeep performed it without asking any questions.” Encouraging the actor, the director added, “Bro, this film will also enter the Rs 100 crore club. Be confident, success is certain.”
